Holiday Cranberry Juleps


1 cup bourbon

1 cup water

2 strips of fresh orange peel

3/4 cup sugar

1 cup fresh cranberries

Fresh mint sprigs


Combine 1 cup water, 3/4 cup sugar and 2 strips of fresh orange peel in a small saucepan.

Bring mixture to a boil over high heat.

Add 1 cup fresh cranberries and cook 2-3 minutes.

Remove peels and refrigerate until cold.

Strain mixture through sieve and stir in 1 cup bourbon.

Pour evenly into tumblers filled with crushed ice. Garnish with sprigs of fresh mint.

Serves 8
