Sugared Cranberry Mimosa
Rim tumbler with lime and dip in sugar. Pour 6 ounces sweetened cranberry juice (chilled) into tumbler and top with 3 ounces of champagne. Garnish with a skewer of fresh cranberries and enjoy. Serves 1.
Holiday Cranberry Juleps
Combine 1 cup water, 3/4 cup sugar and 2 strips of fresh orange peel in a small saucepan. Bring mixture to a boil over high heat. Add 1 cup fresh cranberries and cook 2-3 minutes. Remove peels and refrigerate until cold. Strain mixture through sieve and stir in 1 cup bourbon. Pour evenly into tumblers filled with crushed ice. Garnish with sprigs of fresh mint. Serves 8.
Combine 6 ounces hot coffee, 1 ounce whiskey and 2 teaspoons sugar in tumbler and mix until sugar dissolves. Top with whipped cream and nutmeg and enjoy. Serves 1.
Melted Snowman Eggnog
Combine 2 cups milk with 1/2 a teaspoon each of cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla extract. Bring mixture to a low boil in a small saucepan. Next, combine 6 egg yolks with 1/2 cup sugar in a large bowl and whisk until yolks pale. Slowly pour hot mixture into bowl and whisk to combine. Return mixture to saucepan and cook over medium heat until slightly thick. Remove and stir in 1 cup heavy cream and 1/3 cup bourbon or rum. Evenly divide into 4 tumblers and top with whipped cream and cinnamon. Serves 4.
Pomegranate Moscow Mule
Pour 2 ounces vodka and 1 ounce pomegranate juice into tumbler. Add 1 tablespoon each of pomegranate seeds and lime juice. Add 1 teaspoon of honey, then top with ginger beer, ice and a spring of rosemary. Serves 1.
Candy Cane & Kahlua Hot Cocoa
Combine 1/2 cup each of whole milk and heavy cream and cook over low heat. Add 1 candy cane and stir until melted. Add 3 tablespoons sipping chocolate and 1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract, then remove from heat. Stir in 1 1/2 ounces Kahlua and pour into tumbler. Top with whipped cream and candy canes. Serves 1.
Combine 1/2 cucumber (sliced), 1 lemon (sliced), 2 sprigs rosemary, 1 handful thyme and 1 handful mint with 12 ounces of cool water and enjoy. Serves 1
Dark ’n Stormy
This refreshing classic cocktail from Bermuda only takes two ingredients—combine 2 ounces dark rum and 4 ounces ginger beer in a tall glass filled with ice. Serves 1
Combine 3/4 ounce light rum, 3/4 ounce vodka, 1/2 ounce Blue Curacao liqueur, 3 ounces pineapple juice, 1 ounce sweet and sour mix and blend with ice for an alluring tiki cocktail. Serves 1
Combine 3 fresh mint sprigs, 1 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice, 1 ounce simple syrup, 2 ounces white rum and 1 1/2 ounces club soda. Pour over ice and enjoy.
Combine 1 750-ml bottle red wine, 1/4 cup triple sec, 1/4 cup brandy, juice of 3 limes, 2 tablespoons of sugar, 2 oranges (sliced), 2 limes (sliced), 2 lemons (sliced) and 1 cup cold seltzer in a large pitcher and chill. Serves 6-8
Combine juice of 2 medium-sized oranges, 1 1/2 ounces vodka, 1 ounce orange liqueur and lemon lime soda to enjoy this tasty citrus cocktail. Serves 1
